One Year On Revisiting Our Space House Stainless Steel Restoration Project

There’s immense satisfaction in returning to a completed project and seeing the work stand the test of time.

Our team carried out a one year follow up inspection at Space House, London, revisiting the public stainless steel installations we restored and protected back in June 2025. View our case study from that project →


Like many high-traffic urban buildings, the site’s external metal fixtures had suffered from persistent tea staining and surface corrosion after years of heavy public use. Our targeted restoration works reversed the weathered, tired appearance, while our specialist protective treatments were designed for long-term durability, crucial for public facing assets exposed to constant footfall and the UK’s variable weather conditions.


One year later, the results speak for themselves.

Our recent site visit confirms all stainless steel surfaces remain stable, clean and fully protected. No recurrent staining or corrosion has appeared, proving that quality metal preservation is never just a short-term cosmetic fix. It is a long-term investment in a building’s aesthetic and structural integrity.

 

Looking further ahead, our team will begin work on the AXIOS II LNG carrier before the end of this year or early next year, carrying out restoration on the vessel’s stainless steel tanks.

Though this marine project operates in a vastly different environment to our land based Space House scheme, several key techniques developed for the London installation will be deployed once again.

 

Both jobs address stainless steel subject to prolonged, gradual deterioration: Space House endured persistent contamination and tea staining from high public usage, while the AXIOS II tanks face unforgiving marine corrosive conditions.
